Nancy and Larry moved to Florida in 1967 from the Midwest where they were born and raised. They have raised three children in the Gainesville/Alachua County area.

Before starting her career in real estate, Nancy worked for Bear Archery and had the wonderful opportunity to work with Mr. Bear, the founder and CEO of Bear Archery. Mr Bear’s stories of his hunting trips and world travel will never be forgotten. During her time at Bear, Nancy handled Product Liability worldwide. This position required a person who could solve problems, be diplomatic and care about people. These characteristics have been invaluable in her real estate career.

Larry has over 25 years in service management with large car dealerships. Likewise, Larry had to possess the same characteristics of problem solving, diplomacy and caring. During his time in service management, Larry received a great deal of training in management through General Motors. Larry joined Nancy in real estate in 1994 and has been a very important addition to The Skaggs Team. You get two professionals for the price of one!

Nancy and Larry’s children are now grown and they have eight grandchildren. Their oldest son, Tim is Property Manager for the Southeastern District Office of Nationwide Insurance here in Gainesville. Their younger son, Brad, is in District Sales for John Deere in Northern Indiana. Their daughter works for Sonshine Day School at Westside Baptist Church and also assists Nancy and Larry when needed in their real estate business.

Is it any wonder that Nancy and Larry chose as their motto “HELPING PEOPLE IS OUR BUSINESS”? This is what they enjoy most about real estate!

  purchase and establishment of Francesca’s Trattoria Italian Restaurant located at
